Whereas last season Marc Jacobs dazzled with an elaborate Rachel Feinstein-designed set and a pilgrims-meets-Dr. Suess-meets Jamiroquai collection, for spring 2013 he stripped it down. New York Fashion Week, everyone is tired and no one is sure what day it actually is. That said, today proved to be an awesome one for us.
We saw Yoko Ono, Lil’ Kim, Nicki Minaj, Ricky Martin, Tyson Beckford (yum), and all in one day. Oh yeah, and some truly inspiring clothes from Proenza Schouler and Marchesa, among others.

We’ve been anxiously awaiting this campaign pic ever since we heard that Nicki ‘n’ Ricky would be the new MAC Viva Glam ambassadors, replacing Lady Gaga.
MAC just announced that Nicki Minaj and Ricky Martin will be its 2012 Viva Glam spokespeople, replacing Lady Gaga. MAC releases a limited edition Viva Glam lipstick every year, and has had some pretty diverse spokespeople in the past in order to reflect their “all ages, all races, all sexes” credo. RuPaul, Elton John, and Linda Evangelista have all fronted for the lipstick, 100% of the proceeds of which go to the MAC AIDS Fund. ($224 million has been raised from sales of the lipstick to date.)
