Black Friday, Cyber Monday, Brown Thursday–all the sales days associated with Thanksgiving are starting to blend together into one big giant shopping-fest. It feels like the anxiety of getting the best deals has replaced the anxiety of roasting the perfect bird (and having to chat with your drunk uncle).

Sneak Peek: Mad for Maje for Fall

Thank goodness Maje, the French high street label, has an outpost in New York now. The brand, and its sister Sandro (literally the two brands are owned by sisters), both showed up stateside this year to well-deserved buzz. Both labels consistently put out luxe looking pieces– boiled down looks from the best of the last season’s runways–and voila, instant Parisian street chic! (You can shop both brands online, too).

We previewed the fall collection yesterday and, yes, it’s really good.

Last Night’s Party: Dree Hemingway Fetes Her New Collection for Sandro

Last Night’s Party: Dree Hemingway Fetes Her New Collection for Sandro

It seemed as though Fashion Week started two days early as the sartorially (and genealogically) blessed crowd dropped by the Sandro flagship in the West Village last night to celebrate Dree Hemingway’s capsule collection for the Parisian brand. For those who didn’t recognize the model/street-style star/designer’s famed last name, she’s the granddaughter of author and bull fighting-obsessive Ernest, and, oh yes, the fresh faced beauty is blessed with the same famed cheekbones of her mother, model/actress Mariel.

Hemingway’s ten-piece collection, inspired by her childhood days in Idaho, is quite bohemian/Southwest Americana for the French label (like a pink and tangerine tribal-print palazzo pant jumpsuit) and it was pretty refreshing to see that she chose the two most low-key pieces from the line to wear to her party.

Bridesmaids‘ Rose Byrne Creates an Oscars Red Carpet Drinking Game For Us, Is Adorable

Last night new French import Sandro hosted a party to fete Dree Hemingway’s capsule collection for the store. More on that later. First, a few giddy minutes with our girl crush, Damages and (scream) Bridesmaids actress Rose Bryne. She looked amazing in a bouffant up-do and a glittering gold sequined cropped jacket and we probably pushed a few aspiring it-girls aside just to get a chance to chat with the incredibly nice and good-natured Aussie actress.

Fashionista: We absolutely LOVED the white sequined jumpsuit that you wore to the Screen Actors Guild Awards. What inspired you to wear pants?

Fashion News Roundup: The Cost of a Red Carpet Moment, Cathy Horyn on Award Season Style, and Elizabeth Olsen Covers ASOS

Fashion News Roundup: The Cost of a Red Carpet Moment, Cathy Horyn on Award Season Style, and Elizabeth Olsen Covers ASOS

The Cost of a Red Carpet Moment: Every celebrity dreams of making a best-dressed list, but how much does it cost? NY Mag breaks down Charlize Theron’s Golden Globe look, from makeup to the gown. The results are pretty incredible. {New York}

Why Cathy Horyn Should Be a Stylist: Horyn says that the whole red carpet process mystifies her and states she would tell an actress to wear “something chic but completely under the radar,” like Yohji Yamamoto. While she thinks this would make her a terrible stylist, a little more risk on the red carpet wouldn’t kill anyone. {The Cut}

Elizabeth Olsen Wears Sisters’ Line to Cover ASOS Magazine: In a somewhat meta-move, the latest Olsen style-star sports an Elizabeth and James blouse on the cover of ASOS. Indie’s newest darling looks ready for spring in the spread shot at the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens. She talks about Woody Allen, and of course, her famous twin sisters. {FabSugar}

NFL Star Wants to Attend NYFW: There’s got to be a good “catwalk” joke in here somewhere. Infamous Philadelphia Eagle Michael Vick has apparently been requesting Fashion Week invites. We’re guessing he won’t be spotted front row anytime soon, as one source says they are “curious who will have him.” {NY Post}

Angela Lindvall In and Heidi Klum Out at Project Runway?: Despite rumors of her departure, Klum’s reps have confirmed that the model is not leaving Project Runway. She won’t, however, be judging the spinoff, Project Runway All-Stars. That gig is rumored to have been snagged by another, younger model–Angela Lindvall. {People and Modelinia}

McQ to Open First Stand-Alone Store: Alexander McQueen’s less expensive and youthful sister line is opening shop in London next spring. {WWD, Subscription Required}

Ginny Weasley, Is That You?: Emma Watson isn’t the only Harry Potter star glamming it up on the pages of the glossies. Weasley actress Bonnie Wright looks stunning in Haute Muse‘s latest issue. Look for it on US newsstands August 17. {Just Jared}
