The Stars Come Out for a Post-Coachella Party with AnOther Mag

We thought Coachella ended Sunday, but at the AnOther Magazine/AnOther Man party at Milk Studios in Los Angeles on Tuesday, we felt like maybe there’s always a little Coachella in LA.

Editor-in-Chief Jefferson Hack historically throws edgy, slightly unconventional, star-studded parties to fete his edgy, slightly unconventional, star-studded bi-annual publications. Partnering with Milk Studios co-owner Mazdack Rassi, Hack did not deviate from his fail-safe formula, with stars like Joshua Jackson, Orlando Bloom, Andrej Pejic, Liz Goldwyn, Sky Ferreira, Frankie Rayder, and China Chow packed into Milk’s airy and gorgeous LA digs.

Hedi Slimane Photographs Yet Another Musician in Black and White for Saint Laurent

Hedi Slimane has really been putting his photography skills to work as the new creative director of Saint Laurent.

Most recently, he’s rounded out his uber cool cast of musicians/models like Beck and Edie Campbell with pouty It girl/up-and-coming musician Sky Ferreira (who was front row at his PFW debut and wore pre-fall look 7 while performing on Jimmy Fallon last week).

People & Parties

See What Marc Jacobs, Alexa Chung, Hamish Bowles and More Fashion Folk Wore for Halloween

The past four days have been a non-stop party for a lot of fashion people here in New York. And those Halloween parties have been well-documented. The Tribeca Grand’s Overlook Hotel party, the Boom Boom Room’s fete and last night’s V party hosted by Terry Richardson drew the most fashion-heavy crowds and, as we all know, fashion people like to dress up. They also seem to like obscure references–many of their costumes were tough to identify, but still fun to look at. So, from Alexa Chung to Joan Smalls to Marc Jacobs, here are a bunch of fashion people in their Halloween best!

Jeremy Scott Spring 2012: Wild Wild West (Plus Andrej Pejic Walked in the Show)

Jeremy Scott Spring 2012: Wild Wild West (Plus Andrej Pejic Walked in the Show)

Jeremy Scott’s predictably insane collections tend to echoe the young, urbane, hipster party vibe of his front rows (Sky Ferreira, The MisShapes, Olivier Zahm, Cory Kennedy, Peaches Geldof, Waris Ahluwalia, to name a few of yesterday’s attendees). However, this season, his reference points were a bit more down-home, but not without Scott’s sexy (and at times obscene) rock and roll twist. And I don’t think anyone could do a hillbilly-inspired collection without a sense of humor…or without being Jeremy Scott, actually.

For girls, there were pale denim overall bustiers, ruffly off-the-shoulder crop tops and skin tight mini skirts and dresses, all appropriate for a hillbilly who likes to party. However, the women’s looks were tame in comparison to the men’s. Almost every men’s look included a pair of “pants” with the butt and crotch cut out–not surprising at all for Scott. We’re not sure who would wear those other than male strippers, but that’s not really the point.

Imitation Resort 2012: In the Style of Tara Subkoff
Reviews

Imitation Resort 2012: In the Style of Tara Subkoff

For Resort 2012, Imitation designer Tara Subkoff went back to her cinematic roots, directing a short silent film starring a glittering bevy of it-girls, from Becka Diamond to Nicole Trunfio, Lissy Trullie, Karima Adebibe, and Cecile Winckler.

Many of these same ladies–as well as requisite sexy actors Marc Ruffalo and Liev Schrieber–mixed and mingled at the Jane Hotel’s bar last night, where Subkoff showed the short in a continual loop. (Charlotte Ronson, Chrissie Miller, Shanea Grimes, Sky Ferreira, Karen Elson, and Jen Brill were there, too.)

Several were wearing the Imitation resort/holiday line, a collection of flouncy dresses and high-waisted trousers, all with a vintage feel.

Penn Badgley, Ginnifer Goodwin, Akon, The Misshapes and More Star in H&M’s Fashion Against AIDS Campaign

H&M is set to launch a unisex collection on April 26th called “H&M Fashion Against AIDS,” with 25% of proceeds benefiting youth HIV/AIDS projects around the world. To promote the collection, the fast fashion giant wrangled a bevy of young stars from film, TV, and music including Penn Badgley, Akon, Ginnifer Goodwin, Selma Blair, Keri Hilson, Sky Ferreira, Shiloh Fernandez, Nikki Reed, the Scissor Sisters and ubiquitous fashion scenesters the Misshapes.

“When I was growing up, I thought we were all going to get AIDS–it was this big scary disease, but then it seems like people forgot about it, but the disease is still there and very much part of our lives,” Selma Blair said in a release. “It’s a disease that can be avoided. It’s especially tragic when our ignorance keeps us from safety.”

And as for the unisex designs, Penn Badgley digs it: “I like it! I think it’s interesting. It’s like a blank slate, your own style and how you wear it. The clothes don’t wear you as much as you wear them. The style is simple enough that it doesn’t dictate yours.” Each star wore a piece of the collection in their own way to fit their personal style. Scissor Sister’s Ana Matronic wore a peach trench as a dress. Badgley paired his tee with…a hoodie.

Check out behind the scenes images from the campaign shoot.
