Natural hair blog Curly Nikki posted an excerpt from an interview with Ms. Knowles in the June issue of Essence about her hair secrets. While some commenters responded positively to the piece, there were many who, well, didn’t (this is the internet, after all). Here’s what they had to say:
The more we know about Solange Knowles the more she seems like a normal down-to-earth girl that we’d want to hang out with. In a not creepy way, we swear. Last night she attended the CFDA awards with one of our other favorite people in fashion, Jenna Lyons. And since Solange wasn’t even wearing J.Crew (she was wearing an awesome yellow pailette-covered Marni number) we’re pretty sure Solange and Jenna just came together just because they’re buddies. But we had to ask, of course.
Fashionista: So, first, the requisite question, what are you wearing tonight?
Solange: I’m wearing Marni and Missoni shoes and I probably should not have eaten two bags of bbq chips before I got in it, nothing I can do about that now. We actually got here a little early and I was in the car and I was like, ‘I’m so hungry!” so we stopped.

We were saddened to hear today about the passing of Donna Summer, who lost her battle to lung cancer today at the age of 63. Summer moved us (both physically and emotionally) with her strong, sultry vocals, smoldering stage presence, and of course, her unabashedly glamorous look.
Not only did her voice define a genre, but her style set the standard for divas to come. You don’t have to look far to see traces of Donna’s style in some of our most beloved stars today.

Salvatore Ferragamo celebrated the re-opening of their Fifth Avenue flagship last night with a highly-spirited party attended by industry players and celebrities like Nina Garcia, Frederic Fekkai, and Solange Knowles. Guests navigated a floor filled with freshly-ice-luged drinks and a Ferragamo gelato cart as the model brand’s newest male face, Garrett Neff, was dispatched about the crowd to chat with VIPs and generally make all the ladies feel a bit giddy.
