Sex and the City Perfume Exists: And it is the fragrance most confiscated by customs officers. Of 138 commercial perfume shipments the Customs and Border Protection’s Intellectual Property Rights “National Targeting and Analysis Group” monitored in Los Angeles, 52 were busted for the phony SATC scent. Who knew? {WWD subscription required}

Andrej Pejic Was on a Roof in New York: The gorgeous model was spotted shooting with photographer Sebastien Micke for an unknown project. One of the outfits is a very skimpy bandage-style bathing suit. So stunning that it makes us want to stop complaining about having small boobs. {Telegraph UK}

Liv Tyler to Sing INXS Song for Givenchy: The actress will do a sultry rendition of ’80s rock band INXS’s “Need You Tonight,” for the launch of the Very Irrésistible Givenchy Electric Rose fragrance. {WWD subscription required}

Steven Tyler Shops His Daughter’s Closet, Once Wore One of Liv’s Shirts Backwards for a Month

The fashionably flamboyant and legendary Aerosmith frontman (or American Idol judge who is not Jennifer Lopez to those born after 1990) Steven Tyler kicked off the launch of the exclusive-to-Macy’s Andrew Charles line this past Friday, with an appearance for roughly 300 avid fans at the Herald Square flagship.

Tyler serves as the muse for the Andy Hilfiger-designed Macy’s exclusive men’s and women’s wear Andrew Charles line, as well as the aptly-named “Rock Scarf” collection. Considering the frontman’s penchant for wearing the flowy neckpieces on his person and tying multiples onto his mic stand, Rock Scarf is pretty much a no-brainer. Tyler also stars with his 22-year old daughter Chelsea in the ad campaign.

We caught up with the man of the hour–wearing enough bracelets on each forearm to be the life of a Man Repeller-approved Arm Party and sporting DIY nail art (i.e., hand-drawn black vertical Sharpie-lines on each nail)–to get his take on music-meets-fashion.

“I’m androgynous,” declares the “Dude Looks Like a Lady” singer. “I’ve just got more female energy. I like that flowing and nurturing and I’m a songwriter, so I’m into form and fashion and how it all goes together. Always have been, so it’s just perfect.” Not quite sure if he’d consider wearing a Versace pencil skirt to meet the Queen of England, but we did hear this rumor about him gleaning wardrobe ideas from daughter Liv Tyler’s designer-filled closet.

The latest rumors in the post-Galliano Dior saga say that LVMH is definitely interested in Alexander Wang, but, according to Vogue UK, for “other reasons”– i.e. not as the designer for Dior. {Vogue UK}

Karl Lagerfeld’s NY Apt on the Market: No one’s really sure whether Karl ever actually stayed in this 3-bedroom Gramercy Park pad, but for a cool (recently reduced!) $5.2 mil you can get a taste of what it’s like to live like the Kaiser. {Curbed NY}

Anna Wintour Invited Nicki Minaj to NYFW: Turns out those hilarious photo ops were more deliberate than we thought. Minaj told radio station Z100 that Wintour had personally invited her to the Carolina Herrera show, and later sent the rapper a framed photo of the odd pairing, inscribed “We match!” {NY Daily News}

Steven Tyler Is the Face and “Inspiration” For New Macy’s Line Featuring “Rock Scarves”

Steven Tyler is enjoying his umpteenth resurgence as a pop culture commodity right now with his popular stint as a judge on American Idol. A long-time style icon, and still proving he has a good eye–he was an early adopter of the hair feather extension, after all–Steven Tyler is the inspiration for a new contemporary clothing line called Andrew Charles. The line will be exclusive to Macy’s, and will be sold in the store’s Impulse department.

Andrew Charles is the brain child of Andy Hilfiger, brother of Tommy (who isn’t involved in this endeavor). The Hilfigers are well-documented supporters of the music industry, and Andy told WWD, “I grew up on Aerosmith and Steven Tyler. I’ve always loved his music and his style.” Andy was involved in J.Lo‘s Sweetface line, so the blurring of music and fashion is familiar to him.

The Feather Hair Extension Trend Faces a Tragic Feather Shortage (Plus a Gallery of Starlets Using Them Up)

Surely you’ve heard of hair feathering by now. No, it’s not what the original Charlie’s Angels did in the ’70s. It’s the act of incorporating feathers into your hairstyle, sort of like Pocahontas, but much hipper. We have been warily watching this trend for a while now, and it shows no signs of slowing down. Indeed, it’s reached ridiculous proportions.

Women are now storming fly fishing shops to get their hands on “hackles,” long rooster feathers that supposedly make the best extensions. Well, they also make the best fly fishing lures and fishermen are pissed off that they can’t get them anymore.

“For real?” you’re asking. Yes. One of Glamour‘s Girls in the Beauty Department asked her fly fishing husband if this could possibly be true; he confirmed that feathers that used to sell for $20 are now $300.

We asked our favorite hair guru, Chris Lospalluto from the Sally Hershberger Salon, to shed some light. He confirmed that most major sites that sell the feathers are sold out or you have to be “industry,” although you can scour Etsy and craft stores and still find them. And as far as the longevity of the trend? He’s already scheduled to do a “bunch” for Fashion’s Night Out. WHICH IS IN SEPTEMBER. So, if you’re entrepreneurial, you’ll start snapping up all the feathers you can find and sell them at a premium on eBay.

In the meantime, click through to see all the celebs who’ve sported the trend (trust us, you’ll be very surprised at some of the ladies you see here).
