10 Lessons I Learned at Teen Vogue‘s Fashion University That Will Help You Land Your Dream Job

This Saturday, I found myself among the hordes of well-dressed 16-24 year-olds at Teen Vogue‘s annual Fashion University event in Midtown Manhattan, where industry VIPS like as Grace Coddington, BryanBoy, Amy Astley and more, dropped their infinite fashion knowledge on us.

Competition for seats was fierce. Girls and boys from all over the world rushed and crushed into seats like their careers depended on it. And after everything I learned this weekend, maybe our careers did depend on it.

From working a part-time job at Starbucks, to online etiquette, to taking the time to enjoy just being a kid, here are the top 10 lessons I learned about how to land my fashion dream job.

After finally nestling into our seats at Peter Som, we couldn’t help but notice a stunning brunette beauty in a striking green lace dress getting seated in the front row–yep, we’re talking about none other than 15-year-old Hailee Steinfeld.

Teen Vogue‘s Mary Kate Steinmiller On Her New Jewelry Collaboration With The Webster and Mercedes-Benz

Miami swim week kicks off tomorrow. While the abbreviated fashion week gets as much attention for the t and a on display as it does for the swimwear, a new collab to promote Miami swim caught our eye. Hot Miami boutique The Webster, which the rest of the country has had been fortunate enough to have chance to shop lately as it’s one of the shop-in-shops at Target, has teamed up with show sponsor Mercedes-Benz and Teen Vogue editor Mary Kate Steinmiller on a jewelry collections. For those of you who don’t know, Steinmiller is an accomplished jewelry designer as well as a full time editor and street style catnip. In fact, her jewelry making skills probably helped land that Teen Vogue job.

We caught up with Steinmiller to get all the details on her new collection for The Webster, how she got into making jewelry (she makes every piece by hand), and how she balances accessory design with a full time job at Teen Vogue.
