On Monday, Hunger Games fashion blog Capitol Couture relaunched with a portrait of Effie Trinket from the trilogy’s second installment: Catching Fire. Now, Katniss’s portrait has been unveiled as well. Do their dresses look a little familiar?
Something current Vogue cover girl and The Devil Wears Prada star Anne Hathaway probably didn’t do upon meeting Anna Wintour was exclaim, “I just met Miranda Priestly!”
But Jennifer Lawrence did, according to Page Six. Though, we don’t think it will hurt her chances of scoring a Vogue cover in the near future.
The costumes in The Hunger Games were pretty disappointing. They were panned by a host of fashion people in The New York Times recently, all of whom seemed to be hoping for another Blade Runner (an oft-cited source of fashion inspiration). Blade Runner it was not. Publicist Paul Wilmot called the costumes ‘hideola.’ If only Katniss had worn this Calvin Klein number that now bears her name…

Kardashians Pose Kasually in Lingerie Ad: Here’s the first campaign image from the K-Klan’s Intimates kollection at Sears, featuring Kim, Khloe, and Kourtney doing their best sexy-faces in an elaborate doorway wearing stilettos, thigh highs, and not much else — unless you’re counting the liters of hairspray, fake tan, and frosted lipstick that also went into the styling. Ted Baker Luring Customers in With Instagram: This Saturday (3/17), customers of the UK label will be treated to in-store photobooth portraits courtesy of Instagram– which will then be forwarded to human artists who will reinterpret the pics that inspire them most. The promotion is further proof that everything looks better as an Instagram, and will hopefully inspire someone to create glasses that allow one to view life in Valencia. Karl Lagerfeld’s NYC Apartment is Still For Sale, Has Creepy Mannequin: The Kaiser’s Gramercy Park pad is still for sale at $5.2 million– which may sound a bit steep, until you’ve seen these shots of the gorgeous (and enormous, by Manhattan standards) interior. Though it’s been widely assumed that he has never actually resided in this most spacious of spaces, it’s really fun to think about Karl going to sleep with a creepy, giant, headless mannequin form watching over him. {Curbed}
The Other Missing Model: Though we all miss Karlie, many have been surprised this season at the lack of Abbey Lee Kershaw on the runways. Turns out she’s having knee surgery tomorrow (ouch!). The model has been plagued with knee issues for years, and we certainly wish her a speedy recovery. Ferragamo Partners with the Louvre: The Italian brand has announced that it will be the exclusive sponsor of the upcoming exhibit “Saint Anne, Leonardo da Vinci’s Ultimate Masterpiece,” running from March 29 to June 25 at the Louvre. In an historic move, Ferragamo will show Resort on June 12 in the Denon wing, the first time the Louvre has allowed a fashion show within the museum itself. Chairman Ferruccio Ferragamo considers the sponsorship “a great honor.” {WWD}

CFDA Agrees to Move S/S NYFW Dates: In the latest S/S Fashion Week scoop, the CFDA agreed to move NY Fashion Week to September 6-13, but won’t eliminate the second Thursday to allow for more men’s shows in London. It also agreed to revisit its scheduling after three years, instead of setting future dates in stone. No word yet from Italy. Is Rudolph Cuter Than Karlie? Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, which has aired multiple times annually since 1964, pulled in 1.6 million more viewers last week than this year’s Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.
