Although we miss seeing him on season four of The Rachel Zoe Project, Brad Goreski is certainly keeping busy. Between filming his own show for Bravo, writing a book, and contributing to InStyle, the famed stylist’s assistant seems to be doing quite well on his own.
Despite his hectic show schedule (we’ve been seeing him everywhere), Brad took some time chat with us over the phone. The topic on hand was Made in Polaroid, an art exhibit for which he created a piece (finished product below), but the discussion of course turned to fashion and reality television. His departure from Zoe and the state of their relationship felt a bit glossed over during last week’s season premiere. And when Amanda spotted Goreski—who looked adorable in a three piece suit and bow tie—at Simon Spurr’s show, she dug a little further on the Zoe situation. Here are the best bits from both of our interviews:

Season Four of The Rachel Zoe Project is less than two months away! Ever since last season‘s will she or won’t she have a baby cliff-hanger (and the public resolution), we have been waiting with baited breath to go through another season of life-changing ups and downs with the super stylist. It looks like just about every issue we hoped would be addressed this season will be, including but not limited to the baby, Brad’s departure, the launch of her clothing line and, of course, the Oscars.
If you thought Rachel Zoe had toned it down what with her pregnancy and skipping out on Milan and Paris spring fashion weeks, think again.
Not one to be slowed down by pregnancy, the superstar stylist has been keeping plenty busy working on her first line, the Rachel Zoe Collection, and having it all filmed for the fourth season of her popular Bravo reality show.
Zoe, seven months pregnant, and her sizable entourage (Bravo crew included) stopped by WWD to style a shoot for the paper with a few looks from her forthcoming collection. The collection is pure Zoe–tailored (there’s plenty of suiting, including, according to WWD, a le smoking-esque tuxudo jumpsuit), dramatic, with a ’70s flare. Even though, Zoe says, ““I’d imagine everybody is expecting something from me that’s kind of a Seventies, uberboho-glam kind of thing, and, you know, very accessorized. And it’s not.”
Unlike Zoe’s small affordable collection for QVC, the Rachel Zoe Collection will be a contemporary line which includes outerwear (with capes galore, obviously), shoes (four inch high stilettos with massive platforms, obviously) and handbags (Zoe literally screamed when she saw the first sample). Prices will range from $250 for a day dress up to $700 for a full tuxedo look. Zoe’s manufacturing firm Li & Fung say they haven’t secured any retailers yet, but Zoe says she envisions the collection on the racks next to Alexander Wang and DVF and Marc by Marc Jacobs.
Of course, the Zoe tornado couldn’t tear through WWD without leaving some gossip detritus behind.
Rachel Zoe just tweeted this photo of her and her former employee Brad Goreski with the following caption: “Me and lil B on our last photo shoot together.”
Seems like Zoe is really taking strides to make her breakup with Brad seem, as per the original People mag story that broke news of their split, “amicable.” They both released statements to People gushing about how much they loved each other and Zoe said, “He did this with such class and elegance. And I get it. I just told him, ‘I’m here for you always.’”
However rumors surfaced soon after that the New York Times’ profile on Brad was the real reason for his departure. Apparently diva Zoe was peeved that her supporting cast-member had taken her spotlight and secured the most plum placement an aspiring fashion mogul can hope for: A profile in the Style section of the NYT. As far as we can tell, after a quick Nexis search, Zoe has never received the same treatment from the paper of record.
A source familiar with the goings on over at the Bravo reality show lends more credence to the rumors. Rachel has her own publicist at entertainment PR powerhouse 42West in addition to Bravo’s in house publicity, a source tells us, and she was upset that Brad, who doesn’t even pay for outside publicity, managed to snag such awesome press.
1. Is “everything” the new “major/on another level/bananas?” Both the Chanel look at the Love shoot and the bag Rachel chose to wear with her Met Ball dress were “everything.”
2. Why did Brad and Jordan have such (br)attitudes at the Love shoot? When they couldn’t fit the rolling rack into that weird shed, they could have just taken the clothes off, broken the rack down and put it back together inside. I’ve had to do much more annoying things at similar jobs.
3. Was anyone else thinking, ‘too much clavicle’ when Rachel put on that Marc dress? Otherwise, it was definitely a much better choice than the first one she tried on. Definitely cumbersome.
4. Is Brad all of a sudden admitting that he’s not cut out for his job? After being Team Zoe’s most eager beaver for the past few seasons, he laments, “I am so in love with my boyfriend and my dogs I feel like I want a lot more of that time.”
