Tracy Reese was feeling nostalgic Wednesday night as she celebrated her flagship’s five year anniversary. “I remember when we had our opening party,” Reese said. “I was trying to put things to bed at the office to get down here for the party but I got here 15 minutes late. Then it turned out that Anna Wintour got here 15 minutes earlier and totally was leaving as I walked in the door! I just still can’t believe I wasn’t there when she got here,” she confessed.

Snowflakes and slushy streets didn’t put a damper on festivities as Rebecca Taylor welcomed party goers to her newest boutique on Wednesday night. While the plummeting temperatures called for snow boots and parkas, Taylor fans opted to don their favorite spring looks at the designer’s Meatpacking District outpost. Selita Ebanks chose a polka dot skirt paired with a floral tank, 30 Rock‘s Katrina Bowden wore a floral jumper, and we even spotted a certain Gossip Girl in a floppy sunhat. (Tika Sumpter, to be exact.)
The space reflects Taylor’s flirty ensembles. From the ornate ceiling moldings to the cast-resin furniture complete with a touch of burnished gold, it’s easy to see that the designer played a big role bringing the store to fruition. “I’ve been 100% hands on with this project,” said Taylor as she took a break from greeting guests. “I’ve been here all day working on everything including the flower arrangements! I’m a little bit of a freak like that,” she admitted. Of course, she did have the help of APALondon, a design firm that has also worked with the likes of Stella McCartney and Adidas to create unique store layouts.
