Chanel announced today that Brad Pitt would be the new face of Chanel No. 5–making him the first ever male spokesperson for the iconic fragrance. That got us thinking: Could other storied brands go the same route as Chanel? Will we be seeing more handsome male faces in some of our favorite campaigns?
If that’s the case, supermodel Coco Rocha is not going to be happy. She tweeted earlier today: “No working model is happy for Brad Pitt and his new gig as the `face’ of Chanel No. 5.#ThingsBitterModelsSay Cc: @Models@StyleWatchMag.” Ouch. No doubt, Rocha would have leapt at the chance to represent the brand, whose eponymous designer she shares a first name with.

It may have been the softest hit he ever delivered, but on Friday night at Milk Studios, Sean Avery took a shot at Tom Brady.
The topic was menswear, the setting a panel at Milk Studios, organized by Parsons, sponsored by Gillette and featuring hockey player Sean Avery, rapper/actor Common, creative director Timothee Verrecchia, and designer Richard Chai. The hit came as the panel was discussing the loosening of stigma on men caring about fashion and how they dress. Common had offered that celebrities, including famous athletes, publicly declaring in interest in fashion (from Kanye’s fashion line to Sean Avery interning at Vogue), has helped removed the stigma.

Fashion 2.0 Awards Winners Announced: The 3rd annual Fashion 2.0 Awards, which honors the fashion brands that have been most innovative in the media and technology, were held in NYC last night by the Style Coalition. Winners of the night included DKNY for Best Twitter, Marc Jacobs for Best Website, and one of our personal favs, Instagram for the Next Big Thing in Tech. My husband cannot fucking throw the ball and catch the ball at the same time! I can’t believe they dropped the ball so many times!”

Enter our football fashion face-off between the two opposing team’s quarterbacks: The New York Giants’ Eli Manning v. he New England Patriots’ Tom Brady. We did a little investigating into their off-the-field style – from vintage yearbook photos, to down-time with the dogs. Football season may be coming to an end, but fashion is obviously timeless. And neither of these guys have always been winners on the fash-field.
