Cinna Lenny Kravitz Designed a Collection For Toms Because Daughter Zoe Told Him To

File this one under collaborations we did not see coming. Has Lenny Kravtiz’s role as Hunger Games stylist Cinna turned him onto fashion design? The rockstar-cum-actor has, unbeknownst to us, designed a spring collection of stylish slip-ons for “one for one” footwear company Toms. According to Toms’ blog, Kravitz worked closely with founder Blaky Mycoskie Read more →

Tracy Feith Resurfaces To Design for Toms Shoes

Tracy Feith Resurfaces To Design for Toms Shoes

Remember Tracy Feith? The designer was an early favorite of Michelle Obama’s, his Target collection was a hit, and he had standalone boutiques in New York and L.A…until he inexplicably fell off the face of the earth back in 2010. His boutiques closed and it turned out he owed over $200,000 to landlords in NYC and Montauk.

While we still don’t know the reason behind his mysterious disappearance from the fashion business, the designer seems to be making a comeback. For real.

Brian Atwood Cried and Blake Lively Owned up to Her Louboutin Obsession at Last Night’s Footwear News Achievement Awards

Blake Lively loves her some Christian Louboutin. Last night, celebrities, designers and buyers gathered at MoMa for the Footwear News Achievement Awards, which the host, Fairchild Fashion Group’s Michael Atmore, described as “a tiny bit of Golden Globes…You never know what’s going to happen.”

Honorees included Charlotte Olympia for Emerging Talent, Ivanka Trump for Launch of the Year, Toms Shoes and Vibram for Brands of the Year, Brian Atwood for Designer of the Year, and finally, Christian Louboutin for Person of the Year.

Jessica Alba, who presented Blake Mycoskie’s award for Toms, jumped on the suit trend in Dolce & Gabbana; Ivanka Trump is gorgeous and came off quite smart and business-minded; Charlotte Dellal looked amazing as usual and buddied up with Olivia Palermo. The sweetest moment was Brian Atwood’s mom Yolanda presenting his award and him tearing up during his acceptance. However, the most memorable part of the evening was easily Blake Lively’s ridiculously rapturous and glowing introduction to Christian Louboutin.

Toms v. Bobs: Quite Possibly The Most Ridiculous Adventures in Copyright Ever

When we read this story in the LA Times on Sunday, we couldn’t quite believe it:

Skechers, makers of those ugly, inefficient sneakers that were inexplicably popular in late 1990s, has created a line of shoes called Bobs. These shoes are in the style of a traditional alpargata shoe–kind of like an espadrille loafer–and for every pair sold, two pairs will be given to a child in need.

Sound familiar? That’s because it’s the business model of Toms, a shoe line launched by trustafarian/entrepreneur Blake MyCoskie a few years ago. MyCoskie gave away his 1 millionth pair of shoes last month, according the Times.
