JERRY-HALL-GEORGIA-JAGGER

Georgia May Jagger and Jerry Hall for H&M: No Sears family portraits for this lot! Here’s Jerry Hall and her equally gorgeous daughter Georgia May Jagger posing in H&M’s new campaign. Wonder if they got any matted and framed? Or on a key chain. {HuffPo}

Jaeger Designing Uniforms For Will and Kate’s Home: The beloved British heritage brand will be designing the new uniforms for the royal couple’s front of house team at Kensington Palace. Guess that means I’ll have to find someone else to design mine…. {Telegraph}

Rachel Zoe Won’t Let Jennifer Garner Wear Maternity: The super stylist has apparently banned Jen from wearing maternity clothes to events, but with four more months to go, Garner says it’s going to have to happen “sooner or later.” Or she could just go the Jamie Lynn Spears route and wear really huge t-shirts. {InStyle}

Last night we headed over to Carnegie Hall for a night of inspiration, heart-warming speeches and, most importantly, girl power. For those of you who don’t know, we are of course talking about Glamour‘s Women of the Year awards.

The annual event, which honors extraordinary women, this year doled out awards to the year’s standout stars–from the most talked about songstresses like Lea Michele and J.Lo to the visionaries who truly changed the world, such as Egypt’s “Facebook Girl” and Huffington Post founder Arianna Huffington, as well as legends like feminist Gloria Steinem.

While the there were too many wise words to count (Arianna Huffington reminding us that “failure is just a stepping stone to success,” Gloria Steinem assuring us that there is life after 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, “life is just one big surprise”) we’ve managed to at least narrow down the night’s best dressed. Though with ladies as remarkable as these, that too was a challenge. Click through to see the best dressed from the night.

After living here for a while, you sometimes forget how many amazing people live and work in New York City. When we walked into City Hall for the Fashion’s Night Out kick-off press conference today, we went through security with Lisa Mayock from Vena Cava.

Then, we saw Anna Wintour walking ahead of us and Alex Wang suddenly appeared behind us. A few minutes later Marc Jacobs, Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez walked in. After we were seated inside the press conference room, the following people (in addition to the aforementioned) surrounded the podium: Prabal Gurung, Zac Posen, Phillip Lim, Tracy Reese, Kenneth Cole, Donna Karan, Carolina Herrera, Tommy Hilfiger, Thakoon Panichgul, Marcus Wainwright from Rag & Bone, Francisco Costa, Vera Wang, Tory Burch, Steven Kolb, Linda Fargo, the Mayor…and after a few moments, we noticed tiny Mary-Kate Olsen peeking her head out behind Marc.

Then, unfortunately, we died and are thus unable to report anything else about Fashion’s Night Out.

Just kidding – sort of.

This week Tory Burch hosted a bunch of fashion bloggers and online editors at her Meatpacking boutique to celebrate the launch of her new denim collection. But instead of just browsing the collection over cocktails and passed hors d’oeuvres (don’t get me wrong, those pigs in blankets were delicious and I ate a lot of them), we got to play real life Barbie dress up with models wearing Burch’s new denim line.

The line itself was super cute. Some styles were just what you’d imagine Tory Burch denim to look like–classic, clean, bootcut–but other styles were much more unexpected and trendy. There were metallic brushed jeggings (though Tory calls them “denim leggings”), boyfriend jeans brushed with silver as well (called “tomboy jeans”), and some crazy colorful print stretch jeans that looked all paint splattered.

Tory Burch is determined to dominate the accessible luxury category. The company’s latest tactic? Bringing in a slew of key industry players to serve on the board of directors. First, it was Glen Senk, ceo of Urban Outfitters. Now, it’s former Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent chief executive Mark Lee. But what exactly is a [...]

It was less than a decade ago when Tory Burch launched her eponymous label, but it feels like that emblem has been ingrained in our Gossip Girl-laden brains for eternity. Now that the age of the ballet flat is falling behind us, what’s next for the brand? Burch sat down with Fashionista to talk fashion, [...]

A: Armor was everywhere, with beaded and sequined tops and dresses that looked like chain-mail. The ubiquitous anorak popped up here, too, in olive drab. B: Hiking boots with heels were everwhere. So what if Manolo B. did them forever ago? They look classic now. C: Color was the theme. Red, orange, and blue looked [...]

mean girls pi phi

This morning, I was forwarded six pages worth of dress code requirements for Pi Phi’s Cornell chapter.

Because it’s Friday, and they’re outrageous, I’m sharing.

What does one wear to rush? If we had a sorority our rule would be there are no rules – we’d welcome vintage flannel and Dior couture heels in equal measure, but Pi Phi’s rush chair’s a bit more specific. Her strictest rules, below. (UPDATE: We’ve attached the whole thing at the end, by popular demand.)

On Clothes
– Denim leggings are appropriate as long as it’s done right: aka, not from American Apparel and worn with chic, cool, chunky boots over them and a longer top.
– No satin dresses. No one looks good in satin dresses unless it’s from Betsey Johnson or Dolce & Gabbana, you weigh less than 130 pounds, have three pairs of Spanx on and it’s New Years Eve.
– No Frumpy.

St. John’s Siren: Karen Elson’s the new face of St. John. Greg Kadel photographed the campaign (the first since Angelina Jolie’s). Karen gets better and better. Looking at this picture makes me want to buy St. John, (and I don’t think their target customer is twenty-five years old). {FashionGoneRogue} A Fast Fashion Fortune British design [...]

Along with a massive business, Tory Burch has obviously amassed a rather amazing friend base. As the holiday season rolled around, she and her staff got to thinking about what everyone was up to, what they were buying for others, where they were going, what they’re planning to do in the new year, etc. So [...]

The industry has pretty much been waiting with bated breath to see what Olivier Theyskens would do post-Ricci. And now we may be just a wee bit closer to having an answer. Rumor has it, according to WWD, that the designer is in talks with Christopher Burch (as in ex-husband of Tory) and Caroline Brown, [...]
