Fashion News Roundup: Marni and H&M Created a Charity Tee, Brad Goreski Didn’t Get a Thank You Card from Rachel Zoe, and Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel Got Engaged

Marni and H&M’s Charity Tee Will Benefit Japan: We’ll have to wait another two months to shop the hotly anticipated H&M/Marni collaboration, but here’s a peek at a charity tee that’ll be included in the collection. Twenty-five percent of the hand-drawn t-shirt’s proceeds will benefit the Red Cross in Japan, which is still struggling to cope with the aftermath of last year’s massively destructive tsunami. The only thing better than giving to charity is giving to charity and getting a cute new tee in the process! {Telegraph}

The Queen to Display Diamonds, Make Us Feel Really Poor: Turns out there’s more than one Liz with diamonds to spare: To celebrate her 60th year on the British throne (and possibly to brag a little), Queen Elizabeth II will put a large collection of diamond jewelry and other precious monarchy jewels on display at Buckingham Palace. “Diamonds: A Jubilee Celebration,” will open to the public in August. {WWD}

Brad Goreski Says Rachel Zoe Doesn’t Send Thank You Cards: Our beloved Brad may have his own show now, but he still doesn’t seem to have the Rachel Zoe stamp of approval. Recently he told Wendy Williams that he never received a thank you card for the Hermes baby gift he sent the sent his former employer. Poor B… I’m sure RZ just has been waiting for some stationary from that rumored home collection. {Styleite}

Check Out Leighton Meester Channeling Pretty Woman For Vera Wang’s New Fragrance

Leighton Meester looks great in print ads. She surprised everyone with her playful Missoni ads, and she’s now the face of Vera Wang‘s new fragrance, Lovestruck.

Shot by Carter Smith on a fire escape and wearing a maroon Vera Wang gown with loose hair, Leighton looks fresh and gorgeous. She’s also channeling some Pretty Woman, though her prince is a bit rougher around the edges than Richard Gere.

Seven Questions For Brood Designer Serkan Sarier

There’s no doubt Brood designer Serkan Sarier is beloved by the fashion crowd. With past gigs at Emanuel Ungaro, Giambattista Valli and Haider Ackermann, the Antwerp grad also happens to call Vera Wang a friend. Indeed, we witnessed Wang running around at last week’s Brood presentation in Chelsea, asking an assistant to snap pictures of her amongst the dresses. We spotted plenty of other luminaries, too, including Wang creative director Michelle Kessler.

Yet Sarier, who was born in Germany to Turkish parents, has the chops to back up his buzz. Not only did Barneys New York pick up Spring 2011–his first collection–but fall’s showing was even stronger. The blend of autumnal colors and couture-inspired shapes makes Brood Fall 2011 a can’t-miss.

We recently caught up with Sarier to discuss the fall collection.

Mayor Bloomberg Talks Fashion’s Night Out While Anna Wintour, Mary-Kate Olsen, and Other CFDA Members Stand There

After living here for a while, you sometimes forget how many amazing people live and work in New York City. When we walked into City Hall for the Fashion’s Night Out kick-off press conference today, we went through security with Lisa Mayock from Vena Cava.

Then, we saw Anna Wintour walking ahead of us and Alex Wang suddenly appeared behind us. A few minutes later Marc Jacobs, Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez walked in. After we were seated inside the press conference room, the following people (in addition to the aforementioned) surrounded the podium: Prabal Gurung, Zac Posen, Phillip Lim, Tracy Reese, Kenneth Cole, Donna Karan, Carolina Herrera, Tommy Hilfiger, Thakoon Panichgul, Marcus Wainwright from Rag & Bone, Francisco Costa, Vera Wang, Tory Burch, Steven Kolb, Linda Fargo, the Mayor…and after a few moments, we noticed tiny Mary-Kate Olsen peeking her head out behind Marc.

Then, unfortunately, we died and are thus unable to report anything else about Fashion’s Night Out.

Just kidding – sort of.

Fashion News Roundup: David Beckham To Design Menswear, Gaga Goes Gray for VF, and Jessica Biel Gets Photomangled

Vera’s Other Bride: While all the attention was on Chelsea Clinton and her Vera Wang gown this weekend, Alicia Keys also wore Wang when she wed Swizz Beats this past Saturday. The styles, however, couldn’t be more different: Keys wore a one shoulder draped goddess gown in ivory silk. {StyleList}

Gaga Follows Gray Trend: Gaga’s usually setting trends, but on Vanity Fair’s September cover she’s right in line with the already established young-people-wearing-gray-hair trend. But she still looks smoking. She’s also got an interesting theory about sex and why she’s afraid of having it. {Vanity Fair}

Like Husband Like Wife: David Beckham is reportedly designing a menswear line to launch for SS 2011 under his wife’s label. According to the Mail On Sunday “Victoria has been trying to persuade him to do it for a while and he’s finally succumbed,” but she had to reassure him that “he has an eye for fashion.” Sure he looks good in those Armani underwear ads, but designing? We’ll have to see it to believe it. {Vogue UK}

Chelsea Clinton’s Vera Wang Dress Was Really Pretty

Chelsea Clinton’s Vera Wang Dress Was Really Pretty

It’s official: Chelsea Clinton wore Vera Wang when marrying Marc Mezvinsky yesterday in upstate New York, as reported on People.com. Mezvinsky wore a Burberry suit.

Chelsea’s mom, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, wore Oscar.

While none of this is very surprising, we will say that we were very impressed with the bride’s dress choice. The beading at the waist, frothy skirt and beautiful white rose bouquet might not have been innovative, but it was beautiful.

What do you think of Chelsea’s dress?

What Should Chelsea Wear?

What Should Chelsea Wear?

Much has been made of Chelsea Clinton’s top-secret nuptials to investment banker Marc Mezvinsky. The couple is set to wed this Saturday, reportedly in in Rhinebeck, NY.

“Part of the fascination, I think, is that Chelsea is so private–no one was this fascinated with Jenna Bush’s wedding” says Doree Shafrir, contributing editor for New York and resident Chelsea wedding expert. “We’ve also seen her go from ugly duckling to swan which is always a great narrative.”

And since we’re Fashionista, it’s that “ugly ducking to swan” narrative we’re most fascinated by. What will Bill’s daughter wear down the aisle?

This morning WWD snapped her going into Vera Wang. Refinery 29 reported earlier that she would wear custom Oscar de la Renta.

Here are our top ten suggestions for Chelsea (and yes, we know the green skirted ODLR number is just wishful thinking). Who gets your vote?
