Watch: Vice Explores the Darker Side of Fashion at Cambodia’s First Ever Fashion Week

We always look forward to the latest installment of Vice‘s Fashion Week Internationale, as the episodes are often as entertaining as they are educational. Needless to say, Vice’s latest trip to Cambodia’s first ever Fashion Week in Phnom Penh, proved no different. Host Charlet Duboc headed to Cambodia for a comprehensive look at the third Read more →

Sneak Peek: Butt Implants, ‘Cocaine’ on the Runway, Lingerie Fashion Shows and More From Vice‘s Look Inside Colombia Fashion Week

About a month ago, we told you about Fashion Week Internationale, Vice‘s new web series, in which intrepid reporter/Karlie Kloss doppelganger Charlet Duboc explores all those other fashion weeks that take place around the world. The very entertaining and eye-opening Pakistan and Full-Figured fashion weeks have already aired (you can watch those here), but we are especially fascinated by this week’s episode: Colombia Fashion Week.

We got a sneak peek of the episode and from beginning to end, it does not disappoint. It begins with a song in which the phrase “spank her ass” is repeated over and over again (in Spanish) and hostess Charlet Duboc makes the following astute observation: “Most fashion weeks are synonymous with cocaine, but this fashion week’s having an extra hard time totally trying to dispell that.”

Vice‘s Awesome New Show Fashion Week Internationale Investigates All Those Other Fashion Weeks

Vice‘s fashion coverage is not exactly traditional. For example, there was that time they had a reporter attend a London Fashion Week show while tripping on acid. And that time they had Terry Richardson shoot a group of scantily clad full-figured gals for their photography issue. And Fashion Cats, the best book ever published. And there is also of course the popular “Dos & Don’ts” column.

On Thursday, Vice will launch their biggest fashion project yet–a web series called Fashion Week Internationale, which is meant to explore the “world of fashion that exists outside the superlative catwalks of New York, London, Paris, and Milan.” In each episode, Charlet Duboc, a charming British Karlie Kloss lookalike with a truly enviable ’90s clothing collection, goes behind the scenes Vice-style of a different fashion week, many of which are in some pretty unlikely locales.

Last night, we had the pleasure of attending a screening of the first two episodes at Vice‘s Williamsburg offices. The first was Pakistan’s Islamabad Fashion Week (fashion literally used to be banned there), followed by Full-Figured Fashion Week, which takes place right under our noses here in NYC. Both episodes, while extremely different, were incredibly eye-opening, thoroughly entertaining, heartfelt and, at times, hilarious. We got a chance to sit down with Charlet (who I feel like could be the next Alexa Chung) and Vice Global Editor Andy Capper to chat about fashion, Jersey Shore, how the series came about, the craziest things they saw and did and what they hope to accomplish with the show. Click through for that and a sneak peek at Fashion Week Internationale!

Vice Sent a Reporter to Fashion Week On Acid; Here Are the Funniest Highlights From Her ‘Trip’

This year, Vice sent someone to London Fashion Week on acid. Yes, you read that right.

Vice convinced their friend Elektra to take a hit of acid and then sent her to the tents and then sat back and let the whole ridiculous, hilarious trip unfold in front of them. The show was Topshop Unique, and the observations were–as you can imagine–choice.

Here are some of our favorite parts from poor Elektra’s trip:

So This Really Happened: New Book Fashion Cats Features Kitties in Couture. Look.

So you know how I have a minor obsession (it’s not a problem, really) with fashion and cats? Well Vice got inside my head and made a book called Fashion Cats featuring supermodel kitties Prin and Kataro wearing everything from tiaras and capes trimmed in lace to bunny and frog hats (because it’s the funniest when animals are dressed like other animals). Prin and Kataro are the prized pets of Takako Iwasa, whom Vice bills as “Japan’s premier cat tailor.”

Take a look at Prin and Kataro in Iwasa’s creations. They nearly outshine Freja as a Chanel cat. Nearly.
