We hope your bags and backs are ready because it’s nearly that time of year again! That’s right–the September issues are upon us! As Candy Pratt’s Price famously drawled in The September Issue, “September is the January in fashion” (which, P.S., you can actually get as a ringtone–you’re welcome). What she meant is that September Read more →
As you may have started to notice, all 19 editions of Vogue, from the U.S. to India, dedicated their June 2012 issues to health. The collective decision to do so is a part of the new Vogue Health initiative, which aims to promote healthier, more realistic body images in magazine pages. It’s good timing. Not Read more →
This seems odd. As a part of Vogue‘s new health initiative, which aims to promote healthier, more realistic body images in the pages of its magazines, all of the Vogues dedicated their June issues to health. American Vogue put Olympic athletes on its cover; French Vogue put Gisele Bundchen’s annoyingly perfect ass; British Vogue made Read more →
The May covers of Vogue Germany and China share a few similarities–shot on location, a confident hand-on-hips pose and the distinct aura of spring. But there was one similarity from which we couldn’t tear our eyes away, and that was a show-stopping Lanvin eagle necklace from their spring collection.
Dont judge a book by its cover… Unless it’s a magazine, in which case, sometimes the cover is the deciding factor of whether or not to buy the mag altogether.
The best covers of 2011 returned to a new naturalism and a fun aesthetic, like the Lara Stone T cover we’re still drooling over, pictured at left. Sure, there’s still room for artifice in fashion (see: Stella Tennant on Vogue Italia), but 2011 was a year for reflecting on natural beauties, incredible models, and stellar photography.
After toiling over hundred of covers, we’re bringing you “The Best” according to us. Did we forget your favorite? Let us know in the comments.

The news just keeps pouring in about Vogue Paris’ April 2011 cover, the first under the tenure of new EIC Emmanuelle Alt.
Apparently the lace Dolce & Gabbana dress Gisele sports on Vogue Paris’ cover appears on the February and April covers of two other magazines. Even worse, the two other mags are editions of Vogue: Spain and Germany.
Magazine covers in 2010 could be arranged into two simple categories: the absolutely amazing and the offensively bad. But let’s focus on the good here…
2010 was the year that brought us two sets of fantastic LOVE covers (including Alessandra styled by Katie Grand, and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Lauren Hutton, styled by Fashionista columnist Sally Lyndley), Anna Wintour on the cover of the somewhat mysterious Industrie magazine, Dakota Fanning doing her best starlet in Dazed & Confused, and Lara’s boobs, looking better than ever on the 90th anniversary issue of Vogue Paris.
Overall, covers in 2010 were dynamic, bright, and a bit raunchy, so click through to see which ones hit the right note.
It’s a truth universally acknowledged that September fashion magazine covers are the most important of the year. With fall just around the bend, September issues are packed to the brim with the newest trends. (They’re also packed with advertisements, essential to a magazine’s survival.)
And if there’s one thing you can say about this year’s September covers, it’s that the good covers are great and the bad ones are truly horrible. Notably absent from the bunch are Vogue Paris and Vogue Italia, whose cover images have not surfaced yet, but are sure not to disappoint.
