Fashion News Roundup: Preen Returns To the London Catwalks, People Fainted at the Dolce & Gabbana Couture Show and Karlie Kloss Gets Crafty

After a five year run in New York, Preen will be hopping the pond and showing its Spring 2013 collection in London. {WWD}

Dolce & Gabbana’s just-debuted couture line is off to a pretty damn good start as several people literally fainted at their recent show. Though it’s likely the fainting was due to the heat, we’d prefer to believe it was due to the collection’s sheer beauty.{The Cut}

Are you a Betty or a Veronica? MAC and Archie Comics are teaming up for a vibrant make-up collection just in time for San Diego Comic-Con, so you’ll be able to look just like your favorite comic book darling. {Fashionista Inbox}

Fashion Game, Set, Match: Is Anna Wintour at a Fashion Show or a Tennis Match?

In honor of Wimbledon–which kicked off yesterday–we’re paying tribute to tennis’ biggest fashion fan: Anna Wintour. Duh. Wintour is famous for her devotion to the game, befriending tennis stars like Roger Federer, and even dipping out of fashion week early to attend matches. Tennis, it’s clear, is one of her greatest passions–along with fashion that Read more →

Which Williams Sister Is More Stylish? Nielsen Poll Reveals the 10 Most Stylish Tennis Players

Which Williams Sister Is More Stylish? Nielsen Poll Reveals the 10 Most Stylish Tennis Players

Tennis is a very fashionable sport. Some evidence: the Williams sisters, who keep the court colorful wearing anything but tennis whites; Maria Sharapova and her collection for Cole Haan; Bethanie Mattek-Sands and the Alex Noble-designed tennis ball jacket she wore to Wimbledon this week; the British Fashion Council dressed Wimbledon players for an event celebrating the tournament’s 125th; Anna Wintour‘s superfandom (anything for Roger)–and the list could go on.

So as Wimbledon draws to a close, Nielsen/E-Poll N-Scores took a poll to rank the top most stylish tennis players. Neilson determined the rankings by polling 1,100 respondents and looking at those players who were described as “stylish” by respondents as well as factoring in something called an “N-Score.” Here’s the methodology:

“Using the combined research expertise of Nielsen and E-Poll Market Research, N-Score is an in-depth look at a sports figure’s overall endorsement potential, factoring in the attributes and demographic measures that align brands with endorsers. N-Score Local provides this information for athletes within their team’s local market as well as nationwide. Players are defined as Hall of Fame (receiving an N-Score of 200+), Superstar (100 to 199), MVP (50 to 99), All Star (30 to 49) and Starter (fewer than 30).”

So who got the highest N-Score? It wasn’t a Williams sister. In fact, only one Williams sister just barely made the list. See the surprising top 10 list, with pics of each player on the court and on the red carpet:

Ralph’s Olympics

Roger Federer and Serena Williams won Wimbledon this weekend, but tennis isn’t the only sport we at Fashionista love. We’re also incredibly obsessed with the Olympics. It’s summer time, but Vogue UK is already thinking about next winter, and now so are we. Skating and skiing and hockey, oh my! The opening ceremony is always Read more →

Match Point

Fashion and tennis have always shared a special bond: Coco Chanel, Lacoste, Anna and Roger. Today marks the beginning of the most fashionable, in our opinion, of all the Grand Slams – Wimbledon. It must be noted that I am a huge tennis fan and much like Ms. Wintour, I have much affection for Mr. Read more →
