Ah, the Teen Choice Awards–where the attendees are (almost) all under the age of 25 (we feel old), the fashions are cutesy, and the awards are surfboards. We always love to see what the younger set is wearing to the show–and last night’s attendees did not disappoint–even if most of them wore the same short Read more →
When Persol announced they’d be celebrating a second run of their “Persol Magnificent Obsessions” exhibition series–which honors classic film-making–at the Museum of Moving Image in Astoria, Queens, we knew it’d be worth the schlep. (Especially since we figured a party mixing film buffs, fashion industry insiders, prosecco, and Terry Richardson as DJ was bound to be a hell of a good time.) So we got on the chartered bus and headed over the Triboro Bridge.
It’s CFDA Awards day! The Met Ball may be a fashion spectacle of epic proportions, but the CFDA awards is really about the people that make the fashion (and their hot model dates). All kidding aside, it’s a day for the industry to come together and celebrate itself and the creations of its members. Oh, Read more →
The UK isn’t the only country that had a fancy event featuring lots of hats this weekend. New Jersey hosted the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic in Liberty Park, and the celebs and pretty people came out in full force. Perhaps the dumbest of all, however, was when they all started yelling “Zoe!” at Balmain designer Olivier Rousteing’s date, supermodel Joan Smalls…
Brit photographer Amanda de Cadenet (who’s a friend of Demi Moore and the ex-wife of a Duran Duran member) has a new show on Lifetime called “The Conversation with Amanda de Cadenet,” in which famous people come on and basically talk. The first episode gives us hope that the show will be nice and juicy going forward, because de Cadenet asked Gwyneth Paltrow, Zoe Saldana, Jane Fonda and Sarah Silverman about their favorite sex positions. And they answered! Sometimes in great detail.
As much as we love to obsess over what celebrities wear down the Academy Awards’ hallowed red carpet, it can be almost more interesting to see what they wear to the after-parties–for a couple of reasons. For one, those who make an outfit change often put on something a little more daring. Second, the parties Read more →
Prabal Gurung‘s fall 2012 show at the IAC building got off to a late start. The designer puts a lot of effort into the beauty side of his shows and all that blue eye shadow (a combination of five colors applied by MAC’s Diane Kendal) takes a long time to apply. But instead of grumbles Read more →
