Jaslene’s first composite card is here, but we’re more excited about Samantha Francis, the 19-year-old from Alabama who was eliminated second from America’s Next Top Model… and still got an Elite Model contract.
We like Samantha’s weird spin on the All American Girl look, and there’s something else:
If she begins to book jobs that are out of reach for Top Model winners, she’ll become the first American model who began her career on television.
With Jennifer Hudson winning an Oscar this year - and Lauren Conrad continuing her streak as a Teen Vogue face - the style industry may need to reconsider their views on reality television.
Although ultimately, that can’t happen until a real innovator wins Project Runway… and no designer with incredible talent would be indiscreet enough to go on that show.
Would they?

We’ve wondered before if anyone on America’s Next Top Model could truly become a fashion industry staple.
Gemma Ward managed to turn a few seconds on Australia’s Search for a Supermodel into her break, but so far, the only one who’s gotten bigger thanks to ANTM is Tyra Banks.
That might change next season, when Samantha Francis hits New York. You might remember Samantha as the lithe, blithe girl who got eliminated in Top Model’s second episode… the one who actually looked like a model.
And though Tyra didn’t feel Samantha had Top Model potential, Elite models recently signed her to their new faces board.
Ironically, that’s where she joins Jaslene, whose Top Model prize is an Elite contract!
Let’s see if Samantha can break the Top Model curse… we’re not into betting, but it does seem to be a great year for those booted from reality TV.

Last night’s Top Model finale was so obvious, we almost Tivo’d through the whole thing.
Cha-Cha queen Jaslene edged out goofy Natasha and mean girl Renee to take the crown, ensuring twelve months of jumping lines at Marquee and getting swarmed by eight year olds in the drugstore.
Meanwhile, Tyra tried to cause drama by hinting at bigotry behind the scenes, and Sass + Bide threatened to legitimize the entire fashion portion of the show by dressing the girls on the last runway. Thankfully, they put antlers on their heads to restore the show to the correct level of crazy.
And on a sad note, we turned to our Top Model correspondent Brooke Miller for the very last time. Here’s what the 4.0 freshman at the University of Texas said about the show…

Because she managed not to get thrown into a pool by 50 Cent, Dionne won the Keds challenge on Top Model, and chose fellow competitors Jaslene and Whitney to shoot the Keds campaign with her.
The ad is now running in Seventeen, and we’ve scanned it for you so that we could hold our own little judging panel.
If you look really hard, you can make out Jaslene in the bottom right corner. Squint even harder and the blur behind her becomes Whitney. As for Dionne, whose photo is front and center, we just think this shot proves she’s not the winner. She looks really uncomfortable on camera, especially considering how she’s supposed to be “casually” lounging poolside in LA. This doesn’t bode well for a Cover Girl.
And speaking of LA, is there some kind of rule that every girl in town has to own a Primp hoodie/ thermal/ sweatpant? Tyra seems to think so… maybe her friend Nicole Richie gave her a hand-me-down.
