When Saint Laurent tweeted during its spring 2016 runway show that the "grunge tiara" can be "worn with anything," the French brand wasn't being hyperbolic: nearly every runway look was topped off with a sparkly crown. In fact, the label's just-released spring campaign continues to make the case for tiaras for day, night and life in general by including one in each of the 17 looks in the print ads and campaign video slideshow on its site.

The images were shot by Hedi Slimane and feature models Signe Lund and Steffi Soede as bleary-eyed downtown girls in a wide range of casual and formalwear reflective of the runway collection, from silk slip dresses to denim overalls. Back in October we wondered how tough one can actually look while wearing a tiara, and the question still stands. Lund and Soede's jaded, unapproachable vibes are not undermined by the ultra-feminine headgear, but they also don't wear them ironically. The ubiquity of the accessory almost negates its peculiarity — along with stringy bangs and an exposed nipple or two, it's just another part of Slimane's signature visual vocabulary. At least for this season, anyway.
