With "Clueless" surpassing its 20th anniversary, it's no wonder that the outfits of besties Cher Horowitz, Dionne Davenport and Tai Frasier — in all their '90s-nostalgia glory — have entered the fashion zeitgeist this season. From New York to Paris, there were plenty of runway moments highlighting the signature yellow plaid that has made Cher's Beverly Hills-prep aesthetic so recognizable. (And let's not forget Dionne's outfit in a matching motif from the film's opening scenes, too.)
Michael Kors included Cher-approved plaid in his crazy mashup of a collection, as well as Matthew Adams Dolan, in the form of a long shirt-dress stylishly layered underneath a form-fitting denim jacket. Over in London, Nicopanda showcased plaid inspired by the decade's grunge, and in Milan, Sara Battaglia and Versace created their own fashionable takes on the checkered print, too.
Now that we've landed in Paris for the final week of fashion month, Dior's Maria Grazia Chiuri even put a luxury spin on the pop culture-friendly look, which you can see in the gallery below, along with even more designer-name examples.
