In many ways, Rodnik is the British version of Trovata - cute boys taking a classic aesthetic from their country (for Trovata, it's waspy prep; for Rodnik, it's British Victorian) and turning it into something fun for young style hounds. When we heard last night that the Rodnik boys, Rich and Phillip, are friends with Trovata founders Sam Shipley and Jeff Halmos, we weren't surprised. We were also reminded of Trovata's infamous "Cat People" prank - staged by John Whitledge, the only member of Trovata who's still with the company - when we saw these photos from Selfridges in London. The Rodnik boys climbed into their own display at the store, and put on a rock 'n roll show for fashion groupies like Peaches Geldof and the Made in Heaven girls. The Beatles they weren't, but Rodnik is still planning a stateside tour - we hear that after they make some appropriate band t-shirts, the design duo will hit Barneys to play their very first American concert! And sell some cute clothes too.
