Last week in a comment, Lily asked, "Can't you see the difference between copied and influenced by?" We think it's a slick slope, but we agree that sometimes, it's not quite a copy. For instance, these Aldo jelly flats aren't quite like the jelly flats from Marc Jacobs. They shine a little bit more when they're photographed. Their insole isn't plain like Marc's, it's zebra-print. Their bow isn't quite as flat, and they have a bit more traction on the bottom. So maybe the Marc shoes were really just inspirational and not knocked off. After all, there are some things about them that are vastly different... Like the price - Marc goes for $155, Aldo for $34.50, which we think is still a bit too much. Of course it could be worse - some designers get copied much harder.
