V Magazine is rightfully obsessed with these new Alaia boots, but maybe for the wrong reasons. Their blog explains that the shoes' appeal comes from their originality - some designers go Edie, some go Futuristic, but Alaia sticks to form, function, and his early training as a sculptor. That's all amazing, but what about the success of this shoe design in previous seasons? Surely V can't forget Carine Roitfeld's Alaia corsets in black, beige, and white (as shot by the Sartorialist in Milan). The same corset that Kate Moss allegedly borrowed from Carine for the Another Magazine party last September. The same corset that's now been cut into a very cool, very unattainable shoe. Now, who's going to copy it?
