For those who aren't excited by sorority bids, there's a new kind of bidding that starts today: The race for 24 custom Prada pieces, auctioned on their website through July 25. The pieces include clothes, bags, and shoes, and were all hand-selected by Miuccia Prada. Though they were created for Prada's upcoming Fall / Winter collection, they never made it on the runway, meaning this is the first time the items have ever been unveiled. The rules are simple: Check in every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday and place your bids for seven days, until the auction for your favorite piece closes. Prada says the project was inspired by bidding wars for art, and the idea that an original work can spark a reaction around the world. If you want to bid - or just window shop from your Windows 95 application - go to Prada.com, where we're already clicking obsessively, and lusting after the banana-yellow shoes at left. We bet they'll go for $750... sigh.
