You may have heard that Christopher Kane had his collection stolen a week before show time - one of the most hotly anticipated show times in London, in fact. It's pretty traumatic, but we heard from a UK source today that not as much went missing as they first thought. Not only that, but everything that DID disappear has been swiftly rebuilt by Kane and his team, so the entire Spring '08 collection will hit the catwalk this week. Whether Mr. Kane and his staff will also hit the catwalk - and fall fast asleep from an entire week of all-nighters - is something we're still waiting to see...

Christopher Kane and Versus Part Ways
Before the rumors about Christopher Kane going to Balenciaga were squelched (a spokesperson for Kane said that the report was "unfounded") I wondered: If Kane was going to helm Balenciaga, what would happen to Versus, the kid-sister Versace line he's designed for the past six seasons? Surely, he couldn't carry on designing three lines. Even though today brings no new developments regarding who will replace Nicolas Ghesquière at Balenciaga, Versace has announced that Christopher Kane will be leaving Versus in what WWD is describing as a "mutual agreement" between Kane and Donatella Versace. It's a "mutual agreement" because there was no termination of contract--Versus is simply taking a different tack.
