Doubtless, you've heard the craziness at Van Cleef & Arpels' party last night: Despite their massive venue, the fire department deemed the building "too crowded," and multiple VIPs - basically anyone arriving after 8 - were turned away at the door. So while Lanvin's Alber Elbaz showed Demi Moore through the packed room, the rest of us searched for signs of life - a publicist, mainly - outside on "the pink carpet." We're usually not thrilled to be kept waiting - even if it is with editors at French Vogue and WWD - but suddenly the Rodarte posse streamed out of the party, and we pounced. We may not always get / love / fathom their collections, but now that we've met them, we must gush: Kate and Laura Mulleavy are cool. So sweet, so easygoing, and so ready to joke about how just before their shows, they get unexpected cuts and bruises that come, somehow, from their sewing techniques. So let it be said, we think the Rodarte girls are awesome. What we'll think of their runway... well, we'll let you know later this week, since the sisters were gracious enough to invite us on the spot, "even though I'm not sure there are any actual seats left," laughed Laura. As for the party: Shortly after Rodarte left, the doors opened for our small style posse. You can read all about the adventure - complete with Mischa, Irina, and Pop Burger - at Teen Vogue.
