The new Louis Vuitton bags got quite an unveiling last night, when Naomi Campbell and a parade of old-school Supes marched them down the runway in nurses' hats. They were designed with the artist Richard Prince, and feature the signature company monogram that looks - to us - a little bit like Warhol, drunk on his own iconography and doing screen prints upside-down. Cathy Horyn thinks the new line is "more eventful" than Marc's collection with the artist Murakami, which may have rescued the brand's bags from tourist-and-grandma territory. But they'll obviously cost a lot, and sometimes investing in a bag tied to a season is risky - you might feel over once Spring '08 turns to Fall. Will you put your name on the wait list for February?
