There’s been a lot of talk over David Beckham bringing soccer to mainstream America. We don’t know (or care?) if he can pull it off, but now he’s bringing us something we actually do care about. The soccer legend will star as the new global face for Emporio Armani Underwear- which will be available in the U.S. for the first time starting in February. This isn’t the only fashion occasion the two have met over- Armani designed a custom wardrobe for the English national team back in 2002, working with Beckham on the designs. The two have been friends ever since, and Armani has even spilled to the press what he believes Beckham’s true reasons for moving to the U.S. were- not the $250 million contract with LA The Galaxy, but the chance to audition for parts in Hollywood. We have the feeling this is just the beginning of seeing Beckham’s face (and abs) all over billboards and magazine pages beginning next month.
