Not only is everybody sort of obsessed with superheroes right now due to the Met Ball's choice of theme this year, but it looks like the idea has stuck with at least one designer in the longer term sense. Diane von Furstenberg's creating a capsule collection for the holiday season in collaboration with DC Comics - the line will be loosely based on Wonder Woman. The clothes will involve lots of stars and a few dabs of sequins - but she promises it will all be totally wearable. But apparently DVF's fascination with Wonder Woman predates the announcement of this year's Met Ball theme - she says she's kept a picture of the comic heroine in her notebook for years, and her staff even once gave her a framed photo of herself in the likeness of Wonder Woman as a gift. Since Diane's dressing the Olsen twins for Monday's soiree, we're kind of hoping she's used the occasion as a jump start on designing her holiday collection. MK + A in bustiers and little capes? We're so there.
