Is getting a lipstick named after you the new replacement for getting your own bag? Stila's following in the footsteps of Behnaz Sarafpour/Gucci Westman and Tinsley/Dior, and giving the Marchesa girls their own lipstick shades. After doing the makeup for Marchesa's last four seasons, Stila's finally let Georgina and Keren try their hand at picking out some colors for the face. The Georgina will be a sheer red, the Keren's a nude color, and the very fall-appropriate berry is named after Talia Shobrook, the makeup artist who helped create Backstage Beauty Collection, the limited-edition line Stila's made using the colors from Marchesa's Fall 2008 show. The Marchesa lipsticks are permanent additions for Stila, retailing at $22 each. Look for them in seriously every magazine ever come August - Stila is a well-known beauty editor favorite.
Marchesa Contemporary Line Confirmed for Next Year, More to Come
The rumors were true-- Georgina Chapman and Keren Kraig have inked a deal with LF USA to bring Marchesa to a lower contemporary price point. The new line, which doesn't have a name yet, will be priced from $150 to $750 and feature "many of the brand’s hallmarks — including embroidery and prints," according to WWD. Chapman describes the line as "under the Marchesa umbrella, but with a slightly different feel." It will be a first foray into daywear for the designer, who's become known for celebrity-beloved, decadent eveningwear at a luxury price point. We envision versatile silk blouses, embroidered or beaded jackets and printed trousers. So, when will we get to see what daytime Marchesa looks like?
