One of the best things about Fashion Week is oohing and aahing over the new models. But sometimes, after a long day, you just want to see a familiar face. So we breathed a happy sigh when the Rag & Bone runway went a little something like this: Sasha, Anja, Maryna, Coco, Stam, Julia, Lily, Kim, Behati, Cole etc. It was just what we needed. The collection, however, was a little loopy. Marcus Wainwright and David Neville got their inspiration from Control, the Sam Riley, (currently of Burberry ad fame), film about Ian Curtis and Joy Division. The second half of the show, sharply tailored suits, skinny, skinny pants and ties, and a shimmery fabric that really only a rock star would wear, definitely showcased that inspiration. But the first few looks might as well have been super well-tailored pieces from Urban Outfitters. There was black; there was leather; there was the floral print from Chloe Sevigny's Opening Ceremony line; there were zippers. We were confused. Then we were relieved when things took a turn for the preppy with a surprising mustard jacket and that signature Rag & Bone black and navy blue color combo. Aside from those first few looks, which could have been an entirely separate collection, the boys have a new hit line on their hands to match their new hit West Village store. Which we'll be visiting very soon.
