Reader Stella's kind of bummed that Jeffrey Campbell ripped off the Bess moccasins she's been lusting after. You know which ones we're talking about - black suede with a solid rectangle of gold pyramid studs on the foot. They're barely a bootie, with a layer of fringe around the ankle. You've seen them on MK and you can buy them at Oak for $222, (or you can when they re-stock). Jeffrey Campbell didn't want to come up with his own hipster moccasin design, so he took Bess's and added an extra layer of fringe. But he's still selling it for $124, and Shopbop's still selling his over the Bess original. No offense Stella, we think they're both kind of ugly, (we have a hard time with a mix of fringe, suede and studs) but we totally get why you're upset. If it was us, we'd write a letter.
