Today, the good people over at Nitrolicious put up the lookbook from Alex Wang's first diffusion line, T by Alexander Wang. As usual, we talked. Natalie: Oh, did you see this? Britt: Yes. I want it all. Natalie: Me, too. But don't you think this is all very James Perse-y? Britt: Yes, boring and perfect. I love it. I just hope the price points are James Perse-y. Natalie: Maybe - right now they only have the wholesale prices up. But anyway, aren't you surprised they used Karlie for the lookbook? I would have thought Erin, or even Alice. Britt: They did manage to make Karlie look incredibly Erin-esque. Natalie: Do you think the underwear's part of the line? Britt: I hope so. ...

Last season, Alexander Wang showed his eponymous collection mere weeks before he was due to make his much-buzzed-about Balenciaga debut. The posh collection was somewhat of a departure for him, and many reviewers noticed it was more than liberally sprinkled with Balenciaga references. But Wang's Spring 2014 collection, which he showed yesterday at his usual venue at Pier 94, was pure Alexander Wang. It was one of the strongest and, indeed, most Alexander Wang-y, collections he's shown in many seasons.
