In today's Thursday Styles section, NY Times writer Eric Wilson reveals the identity of someone that many of you are very familiar with, even though you never knew his real name. Regular readers and commenters will well remember Fluff Chance who has regularly stirred up trouble here on Fashionista, though trouble with a voice that indicated he knew the industry well. Today we find out he is Eric Gaskins, a designer himself for the past 22 years. He has chosen to reveal himself now as he is closing his design business, but will keep writing The Emperor's Old Blog.
There is much to be learned about Mr. Gaskin in the piece, as he has never been an incredibly well-known industry figure. Though he has spent time with many of them. And he's even had dresses on the cover of the Vanity Fair Hollywood Issue, albeit back in 1994. Perhaps our favorite tidbit is that he chose his pseudonym by using the porn name game, combining the name of his first pet and the street he grew up on. Oh, and the fact that our very own Britt is quoted in the story.
