Last week it was Benetton, now it's Outback Red and Forenza coming back into play after pretty much being left for dead back in the 80s. It's like the universe is trying to fill some void left by our generation losing so many childhood icons this summer. Certainly a Forenza t-shirt is no John Hughes, but hey we'll take what we can get. My big question is will the ten button, long-sleeve Outback Red cotton shirt be making a comeback? Remember how we used to double those up (two different shades, of course) and even coordinate with our BFFs? Ah, happy memories. This whole revival is part of a massive plan by The Limited to become a retail force again, according to WWD. A pop-up shop is opening this Wednesday on Spring Street, and we'll certainly be checking that out. CEO Linda Heasley says "We have a very high name recognition, but I’ve got to let people know it’s a new Limited.” Indeed. Can't wait to see what they've got planned...and if a whole new generation of devotees will follow.
