Photo Courtesy of WWDMark Fast has developed a cult following with his signature bodycon cobweb dresses, and the demand for his pricey pieces doesn't seem to be dwindling. The Central Saint Martins grad is now launching a second line named Faster, and it's targeted to a more modest spending market according to WWD. Don't worry, this line's still all about the nylon and elastane knits. There will be simple form-fitting dresses, cropped tops and leggings. The designer describes, "These are things you can wear with the main collection, as underpinnings, or by themselves.” And Fast says that this collection is all about "accessibility". Whereas wholesale prices for his luxury line run around $2,400 a dress, pieces in his Faster collection will range from $25-$400.
Accessible is right. This new label will be turning out designs more quickly, too. “The main collection is done on domestic machines, with a person knitting one dress at a time,” he explains. “[Faster] is done with a factory in Italy.” We really couldn't be more excited about this launch. New York stores Curve and Seven have already picked up the line, and you can bet we'll be scouring the racks to get some Fast for ourselves.
