Adam Lippes found inspiration in a painting of a parachute jumper for his fall collection -- it's day four of Fashion Week, and we could use a parachute.
His floating hem skirts billowed like clouds behind the models; it was a brilliant interpretation that gave the garments full movement. Kate loved the jackets, a long olive anorak with coyote lining in particular. The shearling jackets we loved from Balenciaga and Burberry's pre-fall collections popped up and gave the luxe collection a utilitarian vibe.
The oversized cable knits were the other highlight. Cables ran horizontally and looked especially great on metallic shrugs--I loved a cream-colored coat with huge mongolian lamb cuffs.
A few skirts in big red plaid looked too Burberry for me. They cut a great silhouette with the shrugs and short jackets, but would have been better in a different pattern.
Pull your rip cord and check out ADAM for AW2010 after the jump. (Sorry, couldn't help it.)
