Scene: The Waterfront buidling on 28th & 11th Ave. A long dark hallway with pink carpets, pink lights, two rows of black chairs and purple tulle curtains.
Music: Spa tunes. So relaxing I want to close my eyes.
Models: Each girl wears a single look. Anja Rubik opens the show in a grey menswear inspired coat and Karlie Kloss closes in a poufy white wedding-ish dress.
Clothes: They're slightly off at first. Suits, pants, a sequined skirt and grunge sweater outfit fail to connect with the rest of the collection. Wu obviously wants to do something different. The cocktail dresses, however, are perfect. Feathered looks wrapped under tulle are best. A white cotton drop waist look calls for dancing and a strapless nude dress looks like layers and layers of silk. Everything's brilliantly constructed and to my left, someone calls Wu, "Our generation's Oscar De La Renta."
