The Conference Board, a group that tracks spending in the US, says its consumer confidence index rose to 52.5 in March, up from 46.4 in February.
While we're far away from 100--the number on the scale that basically means consumers are totally confident in their spending--50+ is still a heck of a lot better than 25.3, which is the low we hit in February 2009.
So, I'll ask you again, do you feel like you're shopping more? Or is the Conference Board full of it?
