If you're looking for the most stylish and practical items for your wardrobe and life, the MoMA Design Store is kind of incredible. Not only do they have swoon worthy home furnishings, books, games, and posters, but they have some of the most quietly fabulous fashion pieces from all over the globe.
Why all the praise? I was lucky enough to preview the store's fall collection, and all I can say is, wow. Every item selected for fall has earned its place in the store next to the Frank Lloyd Wright jewelry and Le Corbusier miniature chairs.
In the queue for fall are some slap bracelet watches, gorgeous jewelry, and functionally chic bags, plus so much more crazy stuff! We've compiled some of our favorites after the jump.
And now for the cherry on top: MoMA Design Store now has a registry--perfect for brides to be or us regular folk who are jonesing for that Dali & Film DVD for our birthdays! So start making your list now.
Dahlia Pins by Vacide Erda Zimic, $26 each
Made in Peru from felt remnants, these 3D brooches will add some pop to a dreary fall wardrobe. Each brooch is visually and texturally intriguing.
Nimbo Watch by Armand van Oord and Philip Keller, $85 each
These mod watches snap onto your wrist just like those slap bracelets you had when you were a kid. The digital display makes it modern and the clever design is fun and practical.
Sunset Bag by Hester Van Eeghen, $185
Sometimes one bag is not enough. This clutch--with a detachable strap--features a plethora of pockets that can expand to fit as much or as little as you like. Made from Italian leather, it's not only a visual stunner, but also buttery smooth to the touch.
Metallic Flower Necklace by Diana Schimmel, $110
This beautifully delicate necklace is made from metallic colored, lightweight fabric pieces industrially knitted together to give the illusion of fine metal flowers. It's just the fairytale piece for a evening out.
Bilbao Lucent Combination Tote by Issey Miyake, $450
Inspired by panels of metal fused together by steel workers, this bag realizes its unique inspiration with a kitschy grace. The triangular pieces are fun to mold and make it a great piece to travel with, or use everyday.
