Tomorrow, Taylor presents her first full collection for Spring/Summer 2011, styled by Andrew Mukamal. It's his first major gig after leaving People's Revolution just over a month ago. We knew from watching Mukamal alongside Kelly Cutrone on Kell on Earth that he was chatty and hilarious. So we asked him to walk us through the story behind three of his favorite looks that he styled for Taylor. Because, Mukamal told us, "Each girl has a story."
Look 1: "It's like mean girls. It's like posses of people who dress alike. It's that high school, best friends one day, not friends the next day, type thing, but they share this bond. Like they talked about it the night before on the phone while they were watching TV and planned what they were going to wear."
Look 2: "She's wearing this as pajamas. But her pajamas are a look. She's a young beautiful bride. She doesn't really know what to do with herself so she gets all dressed up while she's waiting for her husband to come home. She's not going to bare-foot it. Even when she strolls around the house she wears a beautiful black classic flat. It's not a house slipper. She does not just lounge around. So she's a play on, is she going to go out, is this really her pajama look? And most importantly, where is her bra?"
Look 3: "Turban girl is definitely going somewhere. She's arriving at her black tie event. So even though she has her bag with her and she's running out of her car, she has her turban on and she's ready to go. She's going to throw her bag at the first person that will take it to her room. She's her own movie star. She's red carpet ready but just for life. Even though she's just gotten to the party she will walk right in and grab a glass of champagne and start talking to somebody as if she's been at the party for 30 minutes."
