LOS ANGELES--From Balenciaga and Alexander McQueen to James Perse and Seven for All Mankind, stylist Elyse Walker has sold on-trend pieces and wardrobe staples at her namesake boutique in the Pacific Palisades since 1999. And with the recent launch of Elysewalker.com, her edit is now available to everyone.
Thursday night’s party celebrating the new site was held in the 6,500 square foot shop, which contains five connected rooms, each showcasing a different aspect of the retailer's high/low mix. As we wandered through the store, J Brand jeans gave way to designer brands like Prada, while a pair of leopard print Giuseppe Zanotti wedges had us swooning in the handbag and shoe room. No wonder actresses like Jennifer Garner and Kate Beckinsale are such loyal clients. Add to that the impressive fact that Elyse Walker is one of the largest Balenciaga specialty store accounts in the country.
In addition to reflecting the same variety found in the store, the e-commerce site features new homepage content every week, a monthly magazine, and a daily blog. Each magazine issue is full of interactive editorials that you can "click to shop," as well as the latest obsessions from Elyse and her team of editors and stylists, ranging from their new favorite restaurants to their must-have beauty products.
The site and store also boast unique designer exclusives. At Wednesday night’s party a there was a trunk show of limited edition Hermes watches. And this year, for her annual Pink Party benefiting the Cedars-Sinai Women’s Cancer Research Institute, Walker collaborated with YSL. The result—the YSL Pink Party Tribute Shoe in shocking pink, with $100 of each sale donated to cancer research.
While the site is mainly competing with the likes of Net-a-Porter and other department stores, Walker’s team feels that it is her unique taste and “incredibly well-edited collection” that will set the her apart from other online retailers. Visit Elysewalker.com and judge for yourself.
