Finally, the tech gods have shined upon us fashion types.
From the iPad and its multiple covers to woodgrain headphones, this season those who appreciate great form in their high-function gadgets will get what they've wished for.
We're obsessed with the iPad, which lets us watch exclusives from out favorite fashion glossies--like Love and Interview--via a richly colored, high-definition screen. Using the iPad's shopping apps, like those offered up by Gilt Groupe and Shop Style, is almost as good as seeing the clothes in person. But our favorite pastime? Watching old clips from Style with Elsa Klensch, CNN's long-running fashion program, which sadly went off the air in 2000.
And of course, the sleek, minimalist physicality of the iPad isn't lost on fashion-lovers. In fact, many of this season's runways were inspired by clean lines and bold, graphic colors, which fit right in with the iPad and its accessories. If you would like to dress your tablet up, Stella McCartney, Chanel, Dooney & Bourke, Louis Vuitton, Oscar de la Renta, and more offer gorgeous covers that complement their current collections. McCartney's for instance is black with a metal edging, and was designed in a gorgeous faux-leather.
But not every fashionable tech accessory--or fashion inspired by tech--is connected to the iPad. We're really impressed with computer-generated graphics, and so are plenty of designers. From Christopher Kane to Erdem to Michael Angel to the late, great Alexander McQueen, out-of-this-world graphics are a huge part of today's trends. And we have personal computers to thank.
