Last night at Mixed Greens Gallery, Korean pop star-turned-designer Sang A Im-Propp showed off yet another solid collection.
While we so often see a quilted concoction--not that we would complain about toting a classic Chanel 2.55 or Marc’s Stam bag--it was incredibly refreshing to find a mix of leathers and textures done in a cool way. There were embroidered and painted pieces paired with perfectly perforated leathers and buffed python. The “Flash” bag--a collaboration between Im-Propp and artists Daren Newman and Sam Hardy--proved to be a winning idea. The "Carry-All" bag, upon first inspection, took us back to the days of Chloe's “Betty.” That is, until we learned that Carry-All does tricks Betty could never dream of. This beguiling bag can be worn three different ways, including the user friendly cross-body, as well as the ever so efficient backpack. Be on the lookout, bag lovers: This one could be a game changer.
