If you do a search on “pregnancy side effects,” one of the first things that comes up is acne. Because hormones make your oil glands go crazy, pregnant women can suffer from break-outs. Talk about adding insult to injury.
But that’s only applicable to mere mortal women. Victoria Beckham seems to be having the opposite occur during her fourth pregnancy. This morning Vogue UK reports on an item that originally appeared in Music-News.com. A “source close to the star” said that VB has suffered from acne for quite a while and nothing has worked--until she got knocked up, that is.
The source claims, “The hormones really suit her and she’s said this pregnancy has cleared up her spots!” Apparently she also has a lovely natural glow and David finds her “sexier than ever.” We hate her. (Kidding, kidding! We love her.)
Coincidentally, Music-News.com reports this morning that Posh is having a girl. Conventional old wives’ tales tell us that girls steal your beauty during pregnancy, but perhaps this baby is very generous and wants to help her mother’s acne issue. Or she just knows about mum’s amazing Birkin collection and is playing her cards right.
Other pregnancy related things that Posh is doing? Eating strawberries and kiwis, drinking lots of tea, and craving marmalade. Finally, and most bizarrely, VB and David have been rapping to their unborn child under the tutelage of Snoop Dogg who said, “Beckham and I go way back. He’s like a brother. I’m gonna show him how to rap, for shizzle.”
If rapping or strawberries aren’t clearing up your pregnancy-induced acne, the Mayo Clinic has some recommendations for you:
-Wash your face twice a day with a mild cleanser. -If your hair is oily, shampoo daily. -Don’t pick or pop. -Use oil-free cosmetics. -Topical medications like erythomycin gel (prescription only) are safe. -Medical opinions about using topical benzoyl peroxide are mixed, so always talk to your health care provider before trying to treat yourself.
