Beyonce's highly anticipated video, "Run the World (Girls)" finally premiered last night. In it, Beyonce is the leader of fierce lady army in some apocalyptic world (which seems to be near Tbilisi, Georgia if you caught the signage in the video). Beyonce leads her lady warriors in a dance battle against the evil men. Also there is a lion and some scary looking dogs. One commenter on Fashin called it "Bollywood Beyond Thunderdome," which I think is quite apt.
Obviously, Bey and her army are not going to duke it out against the boys in dusty rags and camo. Beyonce wears couture when she runs the world! And her army, well, they wear lots of bras and leather captains hats!
Here's our take on the 10 best looks from Beyonce's new video--from Givenchy couture to a body suit with more holes than Swiss cheese.
Lion? Check. Fall 2010 McQueen? Check. Ok, we're ready to do battle!
This look is more about the giant stallion Beyonce is riding than the clothes--though please note she is wearing white heeled boots. I wonder how many takes they did of this scene and if Beyonce ever fell. Oh, who are we kidding? Beyonce doesn't fall.
If you need to dance--and we mean seriously get down--in some spring 2010 Pucci you must cut in some massive thigh high slits.
It's common knowledge that hyenas (I think that's what those are) are more obedient when you're wearing Givenchy spring couture.
If you are Beyonce going to battle, gold sequined Gareth Pugh is your armor.
Also key to a successful battle? Gold top-of-finger rings.
Running the world is a heady task and you have to give your girls a little hoist before you set out.
Getting hosed down in Gaultier couture from spring 2011. Hot.
Yes, it's a bit dusty in the war zone, but that doesn't mean you can't lead your troops in shimmering fall 2011 Pucci.
Hello? Beyonce? You're upside down and your body suit is full of holes and you're probably getting lots of sand and dirt in places you don't want.
