Marc Jacobs is in the news daily lately, and we love it, especially when it’s good news. Lola, Jacobs’ successful fragrance which launched in 2009, is getting a sweeter little sister called Oh, Lola. The name is a play on the expression “oh la la,” and Jacobs described it as a “Lolita”--sweeter and more sensual. The bottle is a lighter pink than the original, but it still has that iconic three dimensional flower cap. The scent has top notes of raspberry, frais des bois and pear; a heart of peony, magnolia and cyclamen, and a drydown of vanilla, sandalwood and tonka bean, according to WWD. The scent will come in three sizes, as well as a lotion and shower gel. Prices range from $40 to $88. Look for it everywhere in August.
The campaign, shot by Juergen Teller and featuring Dakota Fanning, leaked last spring, but Jacobs is zen about this. He told WWD, “We live in a world where things leak. That’s just the way it is. I don’t think there’s anything damaging about ads leaking. It’s nice to keep things a surprise, but that’s not the world we live in. It seems like a waste of energy to get upset about it. It does raise awareness for the project and I don’t think that’s a bad thing.” He also let drop that he’s working on a new fragrance, but it’s still in the very early stages of development. We look forward to hearing some leaked info about it soon.
