Why Liv Tyler Has Been Looking Amazing Lately: She's Been Working With Annabel Tollman
We've loved Liv Tyler since the "Crazy" video and Empire Records, but, save for her amazing '90s style in both, we've always found her sartorial choices a little...safe. However, she has been seriously stepping it up lately. From the amazing Proenza fall 2011 dress she wore to the CFDAs to the sleek Stella McCartney number she just showed up to a premiere in, the actress has been making some pretty exceptional outfit choices. No wonder--we hear she's been having a little help from stylist Annabel Tollman, who has worked with Jessica Simpson and Scarlett Johansson and other celebs.
In the past, Liv has claimed that she doesn't typically use a stylist. She has worked a bit with Rachel Zoe--she even made a guest appearance on an episode of The Rachel Zoe Project, where she had Zoe help her shop for every day clothes. Ironically, Tollman is set to star in her own Bravo reality show this fall.
All we know is Liv doesn't seem to have made one red carpet mistake over the past few months, plus, is it just us or has she been looking unusually svelte? Here's a look at Liv's best recent looks.
Today brings devastating news for the New York fashion industry: Annabel Tollman, beloved stylist to stars like Scarlett Johansson, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, and Liv Tyler, and former Fashion Director at Interview Magazine, has died. She was 39. According to sources close to the situation, Tollman passed away in her sleep Wednesday night from a blood clot, possibly due to complications from a recent minor surgery.
This is what Kate Middleton looks like after an international flight. The Duchess of Cambridge started off the first day of her North American tour by showing support for Canada in a Smythe jacket, but decided to make an in-flight outfit change into a form-fitting navy lace number from Erdem's resort collection (again showing Canada some love as Erdem is Canadian though based in London).
This must have been one of those "private agreements" she arranged with designers in advance of this press tour. Erdem's resort collection was shown May 31, which may have allowed enough time for Erdem's team to produce the dress especially for Middleton, or she may have been shown the collection in advance. Back when we were all trying to guess who was designing Middleton's wedding dress, Erdem's name was thrown into the mix. We asked him about it in March and he responded, "I mean, any mention like that is just a huge compliment. It’s so flattering! I will say that Kate is very beautiful…."
This is one of our favorite Kate Middleton looks yet.
Yesterday, the Obama campaign released a list of its top fundraising "bundlers," and the list, not surprisingly, included Vogue EIC Anna Wintour, who raised over $500,000 for Obama's re-election, WWD reports. Of course, she's been known to raise as much as $1.5 million at a single dinner, so this comes as no surprise. She was one of 61 people to "bundle" at that level (Hollywood media moguls Harvey Weinstein, with whom Wintour has hosted a fundraiser, and Jeffrey Katzenberg were the other big ones), meaning she's a pretty influential lady, and not just within the fashion community.
Wintour hasn't been secretive about her support of Obama:
