A very sad (or happy, if you don't like them) rumor has been circulating on the celebrity gossip sites today: Demi Moore and Ashton may be splitting up. And while we know not to believe everything we read on gossip blogs, this rumor is somewhat believable for a few reasons: they spent their six-year anniversary apart, and the chronic Twitter oversharers haven't been tweeting at each other. Also, on the day before their anniversary, Demi tweeted (on a Twitter handle (@mrskutcher) that she is going to have to change if this rumor is true): a quote from Greek philosopher Epictetus that said, "When we are offended at any man's fault, turn to yourself & study your own failings. Then you will forget your anger." Hmm.
Regardless of their veracity, these reports got us reminiscing about Demi's history: both romantic and sartorial. She's gone through several transformations since the early '80s, when she married rocker Freddie Moore and joined the cast of General Hospital. Among those transformations were some nerdy glasses, very short haircuts and an unforgettable Charlie's Angels beach moment. So, click through for a guide to Demi's style evolution during all her relationships, with an especially close look at the Ashton years and her inability to age.
Early '80s: In 1980, at the age of 18, Demi married this odd-looking 30-year-old musician named Freddie Moore. The marriage only lasted four years, but she kept the last name, obviously. She dressed like a normal '80s teenager.
Mid-Late '80s: Demi shot St. Elmo's Fire with Emilio Estevez (and got fired for drug and alcohol problems, went to detox, and got rehired) and the two dated and even got engaged in 1985. Her style during this time was nerd-chic, we guess?
Late '80s/Early '90s: Demi met and married Bruce Willis in the fall of '87. She had a baby in '88 and went to the Oscars in '89, wearing this insane outfit that she apparently designed herself. Then came the Ghost era with her cropped 'do and more grown up style

Late '90s After some time away from the spotlight with her family in Idaho, Demi starred in G.I. Jane and came out sporting a shaved head and big muscles. She didn't make a ton of appearances during this time, but she did step out in this see-through number. She and Bruce Willis separate in '98 and she goes back into hiding...
2000s: And then BAM! Demi reappears in 2003, suspiciously un-aged and rocking a super hot body in Charlie's Angels.
Mid-2000s: In the same year as her Charlie's Angles debut (coincidence? we think not!), Ashton and Demi become a couple, marrying two years later in 2005. Making the Willis/Moore/Kutcher clan one big happy family. To go with her younger man, Demi also debuted a newer, younger more designer-centric style, which we whole-heartedly embraced. I mean, come on, that emerald dress is a stunner! We hope she keeps at least that up--even if her and Ashton are kaput.
