London Fashion Week Spring 2012 Beauty Roundup: The Best and the Brightest
Best for Kicking Ass and Taking Names:
The Honorary Vivienne Westwood Award for Crazy Beauty Look: OK, we're giving this award to
Best Updated Sixties 'Do:
Best Hair from the Back: Head-on, the models at Amanda Wakeley had hair slicked back in a headband. When they turned around, though, we were treated to this cool braided up-do.
Best Orange: The marcel waves, metallic orange eyes, and all-over bronziness at Mark Fast hammers home the message for spring: orange is in.
Best Updated Nineties: Dark berry lips? Check! Smudgy eyes? Check! No, it's not 1993, and we know this because the eyes are metallic (uber-trendy) and the braid says, "It's 2012" at Ashish.
Best English Roses: Alternatively, this category could be called, "Best Tolkien Elf Queen" (yes, we are geeky fans).
Best Helena Bonham Carter: We fully expect to see HBC rocking the crimped hair seen at Louise Gray.
Blue Lips, London Version: They always show up, every season. Here are the offerings from Mary Katrantzou and Richard Nicoll.
Overall Weirdness: Meadham Kirchhoff's show included a model flashing Anna Wintour. The beauty is sort of secondary after that.
